Moissanite Jewellery – A Small History

In the year 1893 a nobel prize winning scientist called Henri Moissan started to study fragments of a meteorite that had crashed in the Arizona desert over 50, 000 years ago. After carefully examining the fragments, Dr Moissan noticed minute quantities of a shimmering material that had never been seen before. Years later in 1905 this was named Moissanite in his honour. Then many years later a diamond cutter said that if the Moissanite was cut properly then it would create an excellent jewel, and that is the rare jewel that is now used in our Moissanite jewellery.
